France leads on food sustainability in Barilla Foundation/EIU study

France was named the most sustainable country world-wide for food, scoring highly in terms of nutritional balance and waste management. Italy came out top of the rankings of most sustainable agricultural systems world-wide.

The second edition of the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition’s Food Sustainability Index, compiled in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit, was launched during the International Forum on Food and Nutrition held in Milan.
